MARCO BERRINI, Choir and Orchestra Conductor and Educator
Marco Berrini is a choir and orchestra conductor and one of the most active educators today, both in Italy and abroad. He is a professor of Choir Conducting and Choral Composition at the “A. Steffani” Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto (TV). He is the founder of the professional vocal ensemble Ars Cantica Choir & Consort, with which he collaborates with prestigious instrumental ensembles such as Il Giardino Armonico, Accademia dell’Annunciata, Accademia degli Astrusi, and FORM – Filarmonica Marchigiana.
He began his professional career as an assistant conductor of the RAI Chamber Choir in Rome and subsequently collaborated with theatres of Malaga, Seville, Genoa, and with the orchestra and choir of the Community of Madrid. He has conducted in Spain, the Middle East, Estonia, and South America, where he was also a guest conductor of the Argentine National Youth Choir and the Choir of the Municipal Theatre of Cordoba.
Since 2009, he has been a guest conductor of the Vocalia Consort of Rome, and since 2015 he has taken on the role of artistic director. With this ensemble he won first prizes in national and international competitions.
Since 2017, he has conducted the choir of the Almo Collegio Borromeo of Pavia, promoting the European project MEETS, dedicated to soft skills in music education (http://meetsproject.eu/goals/).
Since 2020, he has directed the Choir of the University of Milan La Statale.
A former member of the national artistic commission of Feniarco (Italian National Federation of Regional Choral Associations), he was also the director of the Italian Youth Choir.
He has edited music editions for Ediciones Si bemol & BMM, Carrara, Carisch, and Discantica.
